On the second Saturday of each month Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville has a Farmers Market.

I have been wanting to go to this market for a while now and today I finally got around to going.

It was really cold and there weren’t too many people by the time we got there, but it was still really worth it.

What I liked most about this market is that things aren’t over-priced, like you tend to experience at some other food markets.

We bought 2 Jaffels for R15 each, 2 Vetkoeke for R10 each and 2 Coffees for R8 a cup – Total price = R66 – Bargain!

From the Meerdendal Wine Estate, we decided to go to Diemersdal Wine Estate for some wine tasting.

We were greeted by the car by two very friendly dogs. Inside it was packed and a real gentleman actually got up and gave us his chair.

The lady started us of with a white wine and when we asked how the wine tasting works and what it cost, we were informed that it was free.

Their wine is really good and almost everyone purchased a bottle or two after they were done with their wine tasting, some even purchased 3 to 4 boxes of wine.

We of course also ended up leaving with 3 bottles.

All and all I had a really good day at both wine estates and today just proofed to me again that Durbanville Wine Estates are all definitely all well worth a visit.
